One often envisions the South as being populated with charming old oak trees with tendrils of Spanish Moss providing shade to charming old homes lining the streets. One of the oldest examples of the Southern Live Oak (Quercus virginiana) is found in the city of Brunswick, Georgia.
The Lover's Oak, a magnificent example of a Southern Live Oak is found in the Historic District of Brunswick. It is estimated to be 900+ years old and rivals the legendary Angel Oak Tree (near Charleston, SC) in size and stature.
