Description
Remembering "The Long and Winding Road," a popular song by the Beatles makes me thing of many pleasant walks on the long and winding road around Gordon's Pond at Cape Henlopen State Park. The hiking path and bike trail is accessible the Whiskey Beach and the Rehoboth Beach, south end, of the trail and from the Herring Point area of Cape Henlopen/Fort Miles at the Lewes end of the park.
The trail is well maintained and easy to traverse. It has an elevated structure for observation of Gordon's Pond, itself, and two Fire Control Towers that remain on the beach "standing watch" over the Atlantic Ocean. A gorgeous autumn day greeted Bill Swartwout Photography and the enclosed canopy of trees made for some interesting color and lighting. Wouldn't a large print of this sylvan scene make a wonderful addition to your home decor? Where would you hang it.
